At TWK, Jew-ish/ Jewish Weddings & Bat/Bar-Mitzvahs have made up a huge portion of our year for over a decade. Rich in tradition & meaning, they are always electrifying celebrations that leave a firm mark on us for many years.
Jewish Weddings at TWK are always truly special events and we are proud to be recommended by Karen Cinnamon as an official Smashing The Glass vendor. We love nothing more than getting stuck in to do everything we can to help you achieve your vision, from the Chuppah to the Hora and beyond. TWK are able to help you with every aspect of your Jew-ish or Jewish Wedding – whether you want to go all out with top-tier luxury Jewish wedding entertainment (with one of our 14 piece showband line-ups for example!) or something smaller scale with TWK DJ LIVE. We work on a bespoke basis, client to client, and can also help you custom build whatever you have seen elsewhere, either taking your favourite elements and mixing them with others, or by creating something bigger and better for the real wow factor. We don’t work with the word ‘no’ – anything is possible!
Erika & Jon’s Jewish Wedding in Alcudia, Mallorca
A typical Jewish Wedding will involve a midday or early afternoon arrival for the band – usually around the time of your Tisch or just before. Depending on whether you choose to use our in-house production company to help build your chuppah and stage, we would work closely with the on-site team to clear all sound-checks in plenty of time before the ceremony begins. At this point it is common for us to provide a piano player or similar, perhaps with violin or another instrument to accompany the Rabbi or Chazzan. We work with some of the top Hebrew singers in London and it is likely you will already know of our recommendations for this part of the day, but you are more than welcome to source your own! If you would like us to help you source artists from Tel Aviv, this is also no problem. Our instrumentalists and Chazzans will work closely with you to perform your perfect ceremony soundtrack and are also more than happy to provide their own recommendations if you require!
The band may then provide drinks reception music for you in a variety of formats. Line-ups that often work well are Jazz Quartets, String Quartets or something a little more subtle like Acoustic Guitar & Saxophone or perhaps a Singer. As we mentioned above though, the options are endless here.
The main event at a Jewish Wedding is obviously the evening band who are wholly responsible for raising the roof (literally). The band will perform to the max for the Bride & Groom’s entrance & hora (along with the Chazzan), generally followed by shorter sets in between courses (with an optional main course set), finishing the evening with a longer party set – but none of this is set in stone. We can be totally flexible to your perfect Jewish Wedding vision.
Just featured on Smashing The Glass, a recent fave Bride & TWK collaboration was this 14 Piece ShowBand booking in Cheshire for a wonderful Jewish couple with a Jewish Wedding booking that was 4 years in the mix!
They had a clear vision they presented to us and were very hands on in what they wanted. The day began with our Chazzan & Pianist providing the backing track for the ceremony which was then followed by our brilliant violin players who accompanied guests at the stunning drinks reception. Our show-band then welcomed guests into the room with instrumental music (situated on podiums that the bride had provided via her own production company) before the full 14 members joining the stage along with the Chazan to kick off the most incredible hora which saw the groom be thrown within a literal inch of the ceiling…
Our full band then took over the rest of the night, performing the bride’s specific playlist which included RnB, Hip-Hop, UKG, ABBA & more! We then seamlessly transitioned into DJ LIVE mid-set for the final 30 mins of the night, performing all of the best House and Ibiza Classics.
